Here are a few of the biggest ways an Island Birth Association membership can benefit your business, and the best ways to utilize it. We aim to be an affordable option with a wide reach, and our goal is to continue to grow both in membership and in our geographic reach.
1 - Online & Printed Listing
Your online & newsletter listing is the most obvious. Your business listing is available online and in our printed resource guide. If you have any changes to your business (website address, updated logo, etc.), please let us know so we can have it updated immediately. We feel that both an online and community presence (our paper newsletters) are important as not everyone will be reached by both. It’s our goal to increase your reach as much as possible. 2 - Island Birth Association Members group on Facebook.
This group allows you to give us feedback that isn’t visible to the public. You can also utilize this group to offer discounts to other members, or find other members that offer discounts. You can find this group at: https://www.facebook.com/groups/IBAmembers/
3 - Pregnant and Postpartum on Whidbey Facebook group.
This is a wonderful way to reach your target market! We currently have almost 500 members, most who are mothers on and around Whidbey Island, and only IBA members are allowed to advertise on this group. 4 - Member Highlights!
Member Monday. On our Island Birth Association Facebook page we will be highlighting a different member each Monday. We’re happy to find information listed on your website or Facebook page, but if you have any special details you’d like added, please email Abigail at firstname.lastname@example.org.

5 - Share your events!
We have a scrolling calendar on the main page of our website as well as a full events calendar where you can include details. We will also link any of your Facebook events to our Facebook page. If you’d like your events listed, please email Abigail Gross at email@example.com by the 20th of the month prior to your event.
6 - Blog with us!
We have big plans for our blog in the upcoming year, including more member profiles and blogs written by members themselves. Have a topic you think would be interesting to families in our community? Let us know! Not comfortable with blogging? We can help!
7 - Write for us!
Submit articles for our annual resource guides. Deadline for these is April 1 of each year. We want to print a wide variety of information that appeals to women and families, so get creative! You can email firstname.lastname@example.org for more info or to send your submission.
8 - Advertise with us!
IBA members get a discount on advertising spots in our annual printed resource guide. We print and distribute 1000 guides a year to local relevant businesses. Your listing is included in this guide, but adding a color advertisement can increase interest in your business!
9 - Be a guest speaker!
We run a monthly educational series on the fourth Sunday of each month - “Birth & Beyond” - where members are invited to speak about a topic of their choice. The goal is that, by consistently having an event each month, more people will become aware of it and attend. This is a great way to reach your target customer directly, while helping to educate the public on a topic you’re passionate about!
